Character animation is a highly-specialised discipline within the world of computer graphics and one that requires a high level of artistic talent. Flying Pixels creates realistic 3D characters which can be used to add background atmosphere to architectural visualisations, for character-based computer games, or to demonstrate how pilots and groundcrew would interact with aircraft systems.

Flying Pixels makes extensive use of motion captured animation data. Motion capture is the process of recording real human movement and playing it back on a computer generated character. "It doesn't matter how photorealistic your 3D character looks, if it doesn’t move right then the illusion of realism is completely destroyed," says Angus Fieldhouse, Flying Pixels' lead character-based animator. Fieldhouse has had a decade of experience in combining motion capture with realistic human characters and his attention to detail is legendary. "Knowledge of anatomy and an eye for lighting and composition are essential skills for creating convincing characters," he continues. "You want your characters to blend seamlessly into your scene, whether it be CG or live action. Any distractions will ruin the overall effect."

Whether you require a finished animation sequence, animated characters to include in your production, or technical and artistic guidance for a motion-capture driven games project, Flying Pixels has the talent and expertise to make it a success.
